On Thursday night, October 16, Dr. Yair Hirschfeld, a major architect of the 1993 Oslo Peace Accords, spoke in the Neumann Chapel at KI. Originally from Austria, Hirschfeld made Aliyah in 1967 and lives in the Tivon area, east of Haifa, where he teaches at the University of Haifa. Long associated with the Rabin and Peres governments, Hirschfeld also has strong ties with the current Israeli government. Hirschfeld was accompanied at his presentation at KI by Robert Magnus, a recently retired 4 star Marine General in the American military. Plans are being made to have General Magnus return to KI to speak on diplomatic and security matters. Magnus is one of the highest ranked American Jews in the history of the US military. The mission of the museum (TJM) begins with the more than 3,000 objects in its permanent collection through exhibitions; preservation; acquisition; and value as an educational tool. An active exhibition schedule showcases both historic and contemporary collections, and the museum regards contemporary art as essential to a fully realized Jewish visual experience. The museum's Artists Collaborative is an essential part of all museum activities.

Preschool & JQuest Activities

Volunteers are needed for our JQuest Office for as little as an hour or as much time as you want to give. Help is needed to: 

  • Organize and clean out classrooms/closets
  • File student work
  • Create bulletin boards
  • Make calls to prospective members
  • Make back to school packages
