Dear KI Congregants,
Our Annual Congregational Meeting this year was part business meeting and part musical production. We took the time to celebrate the KIndness of our KI Community and we also approved our newest slate of officers, directors, and trustees.
Rabbi Sussman brought along Torah Turtle and opened the meeting with an important D’var. Liz Sussman and some of her preschool teachers reminded us that holding hands can be done on Zoom.
We listened to the extraordinary voices of Cantor Amy Levy and a group of enormously talented KI congregants ranging from J’Quest students and 2020 graduates, to Confirmands, KI Staff members, Board members and their families.
You can view and listen to these incredibly special performers singing “Let There Be Love” and “I Think It’s Going to Rain Today” by clicking here. This Music and Video Production was arranged by Ross M. Levy. (With thanks to everyone who participated!!)
We closed our meeting singing Oseh Shalom, a prayer for peace, but not before we stopped to enjoy moving to the beat of Hazzan Tilman and his accordion playing Bashana Haba’ah for us.
I never left a Board Meeting feeling like singing before!!
I want to take a moment to thank everyone who attended this important meeting and voted in these extraordinary times. It was so good to see so many families on ZOOM!
It is with the confidence and support of our community that our Boards, Clergy, Executive Director and Staff will move forward with plans to slowly reopen KI when the state and county give us the “green light.” I will keep you updated on our plans as decisions are made over the summer.
Sincerely,
Janice Schwartz-Donahue
KI Congregational President
