Dear Friends:

I am proud to share that I will be leading what promises to be a very powerful KI trip to Poland next summer. This trip will have us explore both the episodes of great joy and the years of profound loss that are part of Poland’s extensive Jewish history. I would LOVE for you to join us.

It is no accident that I am offering this trip precisely now, as antisemitism abounds and Jewish communities around the world battle prejudice and bigotry. We must know how and why hate can fester. We must see for ourselves how Jewish life endured even amid times of deep fear. We must remember as well the resilience that exists in our people. Our trip will help us to do all of this and much more. Going with your KI family will add another layer of meaning as we take in the remarkable sights and stories of Poland together, growing closer to our heritage and to each other.

Please save the dates of July 7-13, 2025. Please also review the attached fliers, which share additional information about the trip, which we are running with the help of Ayelet Tours. We are offering an optional extension to Prague for those interested. As Ayelet notes: This trip will incorporate both great cities and small shtetls. Together we will explore 1,000 years of Jewish history, confront the horrors of the past, celebrate the revival of Jewish life today and discuss the challenges that face a Jewish future in Europe.

The trip is designed for adults college-aged and above, with a very full itinerary, including a significant amount of walking. We plan to offer an informational session in the coming weeks. If you would like to be informed of next steps regarding the trip, please contact the Clergy office at 215.887.8702 or email Sarah@kenesethisrael.org.

Be in touch with any questions. I am looking forward to sharing in this important and meaningful journey with you.
