JUDAISM AND SCIENCE

RABBI RUTH SANDBERG, Ph.D.

While some people see religion and science as inherently antithetical, Judaism sees science as complementary to the Torah. We will discuss Jewish views of the Big Bang; the exploration of space and the possibilities of extraterrestrial life; medicine and mental health; and Jewish Nobel prize winners in science.  Dr. Ruth Sandberg is the Leonard and Ethel Landau Professor of Rabbinics and the Director, Certificate in Jewish-Christian Studies at Gratz College.  She was one of the most popular teachers in the Florence Melton Mini-Adult School at Gratz College.
