Dr. Tamar Klaiman, Moderator, Senior Qualitative Research Scientist at the Perelman School of Medicine
at the University of Pennsylvania.
Bio: Tamar Klaiman, PhD, MPH, is Senior Qualitative Research Scientist at University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine. She supports the Center for Health Incentives and Behavioral Economics (CHIBE) Department of Medical Ethics and Health Policy in the and the Palliative and Advanced Illness Research Center (PAIR). Tamar has over 10 years of experience conducting public health and health services research in a variety of topic areas. She has published numerous papers related to the response to 2009 H1N1 and other emergency preparedness issues. She also serves as an adjunct instructor in the Health Policy program at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and teaches in the Master’s in Public Health program at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Bob Michaelson, retired OBGYN and lecturer of Public Health at Arcadia University.
Dr. Robert Michaelson is a retired board certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist, having graduated from Thomas Jefferson University Medical College. He practiced at Abington-Jefferson Health for 37 years where he was an Associte Medical Director,President of the Medical Staff, and hospital Trustee. He studied public health and lectured to graduate students in Public Health at Arcadia University
Dr. Aliza Rabinowitz, Associate Division Director and Clinical Assistant Professor, Division of Internal Medicine, Thomas Jefferson University, Director, Covid Result Team.
Dr. Rabinowitz practices General Internal Medicine in an office setting, where she takes care of a variety of patients, including those with complex and chronic medical conditions. As Associate Division Director of the Division of Internal Medicine, she focuses on practice operations within each Internal Medicine office. Dr. Rabinowitz works to develop and maintain team-based workflows that allow the Divison to provide high quality, accessible, and efficient care. As the Director of the Covid Results Team, Dr. Rabinowitz manages the Covid results for Jefferson, where our goal is for every patient to receive a personal call and counseling regarding their Covid test result.
Dr. Alan Reinach, Pulmonary and Critical Care Specialist at Holy Redeemer Hospital.
Lead Physician of Redeemer Pulmonary Associates and President Elect of the Medical Staff. Dr. Reinach specializes in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine with special interests in lung cancer, critical care and tobacco cessation. He has been in practice at Holy Redeemer for 20 years. He earned his medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and remained at Thomas Jefferson University to complete Residency, followed by Chief Resident in Internal Medicine year and finally Fellowship.
Dr. Peter Sklar, Infectious Disease Specialist.
Dr. Peter Sklar graduated from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, USA, earning an AB in Biology in 1992. He earned his MD and MPH degrees from the George Washington University, in Washington, DC in 1996 and 1999, respectively. He completed his Internal Medicine training at the George Washington University Medical Center in 1999 and an Infectious Diseases fellowship, also at the GW, in 2001.
Prior to joining Merck, Dr. Sklar was a Research Fellow in the Intramural AIDS Program of the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, in Bethesda, Maryland, concentrating on metabolic complications of HIV and antiretroviral therapies. He then joined the faculty of Drexel University College of Medicine, as Associate Professor of Medicine and Public Health, in the Division of HIV/AIDS Medicine where he also served as Interim Chief of the Division and Director of its Clinical Research Unit. He has published numerous abstracts and articles in peer-reviewed journals and has served as the principal investigator on many clinical research protocols, including serving as site-PI of the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s HIV Research Network.
Dr. Sklar joined Merck in 2007 to work on clinical research of new drug candidates for infectious diseases. Dr. Sklar has made major contributions to the development of ISENTRESS (raltegravir, MK-0518) having served as the Clinical Lead and working on fixed-dose and once-daily formulations. He also worked on the VICTRELIS clinical development program, having served as the Clinical Lead for HIV/HCV co-infection efforts. Among his current responsibilities, he is the Product Development Team Lead for the doravirine (PIFELTRO/DELSTRIGO) program. He maintains a faculty appointment at Drexel and a clinical practice at the Partnership Comprehensive Care Program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
