THREE PUBLIC INTELLECTUALS: HARARI, PINKER, & LEBOWITZ
THERESA WEISSINGER.
A public intellectual is a well-known, intelligent person whose written works are recognized not only by academic audiences, but also by many members of society in general. This talk is an introduction to the ideas of three of my favorites: Steven Pinker, an experimental psychologist at Harvard, Yuval Harari, a professor in the department of History at Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Fran Lebowitz, a writer and social commentator extraordinaire. Theresa Weissinger received a BA in Psychology from Skidmore College. She taught elementary students for 34 years in Philadelphia Quaker Schools, and spent the last seven years of her career as a math coach in a Catholic School in Germantown. She is now retired and an avid member of REAP.
