While we have many upper school teens who are familiar with PAR, we have a large community that are not. Here's a small description of NFTY-PAR: Our region is called PAR (Pennsylvania Area Region). Teens from all over PA come together several times a year. NFTY-PAR has always been an amazing way to connect to others outside of our synagogue and make life-long friends. Programs, mixers, services, social action, social justice, leadership and fun activities have been the cornerstone of NFTY PAR. It was always tremendous and we hope to continue down the pre-covid path. If you want extra information, you can read a little about PAR at https://www.facebook.com/nftypar/
  • Do you know a teen leader changing the world?

The Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards recognize young changemakers who have significant impact in leading initiatives that embody the values of tikkun olam, repairing the world. Annually, 15 teens are awarded $36,000 each. This past year, Jonathan Tamen and Stella McLaney, both alumni of NFTY STR, received the Award.
Eligible teens can also apply directly through January 9, 2025.

Eligibility: the Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards recognize teens who are currently serving in a leadership role on a project or initiative that is making a difference in their community or around the globe. Eligible applicants are 13-19 years old, identify as Jewish, live in the United States, and serve as volunteers for their projects without compensation. The Presidential Action Network has been learning leadership skills such as relationship building, learning the value of having 1:1 conversations. This action network meets once a month, discussing key topics related to what’s going on in our movement. Regional Presidents are committed to strengthening relationships within their regions, and they will continue to create strategies to engage both existing participants and new members.

If The Collab got you excited for leading, or if you weren’t able to attend The Collab and are looking for opportunities to gain valuable leadership tools, registration is open for the URJ’s Leadership Boot Camp on Sunday, January 26, 2025.
