To all of my dear friends at KI,
I write with the bittersweet news that I will be leaving you within a few weeks. Friday, November 22nd will be my last Shabbat with you.
This has been a long and agonizing decision for me and my family – but one that has been coming for some time. Most of you know that I started a new job as Director of Music at Church of the Redeemer in Bryn Mawr last September. This work is virtually around the clock, with a very large congregation, and multi-faceted program to run – much more so than my previous position. Edward is similarly busy at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church.
In addition, my adorable twins will be eight in March, and they are at a time in their lives where they need my presence much more. Having to balance three busy jobs has taken a toll on family life, with one or both of us away as much as five nights each week. I’ve simply become spread too thin.
The past thirteen years of sharing music with you, supporting Shir KI, and helping realize Amy’s vision have been joyous, fruitful, and rewarding. I’ve met so many wonderful people and KI has become part of my family. I’m grateful to Amy and David for their unwavering support.
And I thank YOU for allowing me to become part of the KI family. It is truly a special place with special people. I know this is not “goodbye forever”, so, see you next time!
With my love,
Andrew Senn
