Music Arts Presents: Pianist Haochen Zhang

Music Arts Presents: Pianist Haochen Zhang
Saturday, March 30, 7:45 p.m.

Optional dinner at 6:00 p.m.

KI Music Arts will present Hoachen Zhang, world-renowned, 28-year-old pianist whose career KI audiences helped kick-start 10 years ago. He performed his competition program at KI before going on to win first prize at the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition! Mr. Zhang’s recital theme will be recycling themes of the natural environment through musical quotations of composers who mentored or inspired other composers. The program includes: Debussy: Images, Book II; Robert Schumann: Humoresque, Op. 20; Boulez: Sonata No. 1; and Liszt: Sonata in B minor.  An optional dinner at 6:15 will be offered before the concert. This is the annual Cheryl Beth Silverman Memorial Concert, sponsored by KI Music Arts Committee members Art and Carol Silverman in memory of their daughter, Cheryl, whose passionate interest in the natural world, saving the environment, and respect for animals’ rights resonate so appropriately with this program.

Concert tickets $35 ($30 if purchased by March 25), students through age 23, free.

Optional pre-concert dinner, $20 per person.
