TJ Museum Gallery Opening: Art as Tikkun Olam: Recycled/Repurposed/Repair the World

TJ Museum Gallery Opening: Art as Tikkun Olam: Recycled/Repurposed/Repair the World

Saturday, March 30, 5:30 p.m.

A desk calendar that is now an Omer calendar; a cigarette box that is now an Etrog box; a simple pewter plate that now celebrates the Purim custom of giving gifts of food (Mishloach Manot). These recycled treasures from the museum's permanent collection serve as inspiration as artists recycle and repurpose objects, from the ridiculous to the sublime, demonstrating their concern for our environment and honoring the concept of Tikkun Olam (Repair the World).
